Education is the carrier and developer of intergenerational civilization. On the basis of a successful education lies fresh and clear communication. Alive; dynamic, continuous, from the cradle to the grave… Clear; Information transfer that will ensure the survival of living things that demand civilization.

In the words of Al-Jazari, the founder of cybernetics; “Any unrealized knowledge is somewhere between right and wrong.” In education, the main goal is to transfer knowledge to the individual with the right communication and to put it into practice, as well as to produce knowledge.

We see that there is a strong communication network in the DNA of successful models. After all, it is the communication skill that will carry the information from the source to the target minds and from there to the behaviors. It is vital to capture the perception and learning frequencies of the students, which are the subject of communication, as well as the quality of the educators.

I will present the findings on the technological transfer capacity of communication tools, how much information a person can obtain with which sense organ, and how fast they can write to temporary and permanent memory. A quarter of a century of studies has had striking results, and these findings will be the dominant determinant in the age of the metaverse.

In the metaverse universe, we will be able to see a multitude of new opportunities that can come into the hands of our mental being as well as our biological body. Newton was a genius who could weigh the world he lived in with thought experiments in his mental capacity. Today, in an environment where using the world of mind and going/coming between the metaverse and the bioverse (bodily dimension) will become systematic and easy, can we take learning to other dimensions?

We all know that there can be innumerable definitions of the Metaverse, and we are aware that as the topics change, they will be made in accordance with the subject.

In this context, it is appropriate to define Metaverse as “the new model of communication between people”.

First of all, 2D (pixel) websites, shopping sites, chat sites have developed and communication has flourished. Metaverse, on the other hand, offers us a new communication model with its 3-dimensional (voxel) aspect.

In particular, the Z generation comes as a generation that grows accustomed to 3D game interfaces instead of clicking in 2D spaces and advances to the future…

Well, besides the communication aspect, with which elements will Metaverse come into contact with the education sector?

For the first time in distance education, technology and education went beyond being equivalent to each other, almost overlapped, integrated and deeply touched each other. When the pandemic started to follow a downward trend around the world under the debates on whether this type of education should be permanent or not, Turkey generally preferred traditional education.

Some of the virtual courses that were thought to be permanent in the pandemic were not included in the sustainable curriculum.

While the year has come to 2022 and is moving towards the future, now; It is among the strong predictions that the concept of metaverse will create groundbreaking effects in the education sector.

Because it is predicted that education and technology will go beyond being in contact with each other thanks to the Metaverse and create a kind of intersection, and this intersection set will completely change the traditional education model.

İletişimin yeni yolu Metaverse, eğitim modeli olursa…

Eğitim, nesiller arası uygarlık taşıyıcısı ve geliştiricisidir. Başarılı bir eğitimin temelinde ise diri ve duru iletişim yatar. Diri; dinamik, sürgit, beşikten mezara dek… Duru; uygarlık talebindeki canlıların var kalmasını sağlayacak bilgi aktarımı… Sibernetik biliminin kurucusu El Cezeri’nin ifadesiyle; “hayata geçirilmemiş her bilgi, doğru ile yanlış arasında bir yerdedir.” Eğitimde bilgiyi üretmek kadar onu doğru iletişimle bireye aktarmak ve hayata geçirmek, esas erektir.

Başarılı modellerin DNA’sında ise güçlü bir iletişim ağı olduğunu görüyoruz. Sonuçta bilgiyi kaynağından hedef zihinlere, oradan da davranışlara taşıyacak olan iletişim becerisidir. Eğitimcilerin nitelikli olması kadar, öğrencilerin iletişime konu olan algılama ve öğrenme frekanslarının yakalanması hayatidir.

İletişim araçlarının teknolojik aktarım kapasitesi ve insanın hangi duyu organıyla ne kadar bilgi edinebildiği, geçici ve kalıcı hafızaya hangi hızda yazabildiğine dair bulguları aktaracağım. Çeyrek asırlık çalışmalarda çarpıcı sonuçlar var ve metaverse çağında bu bulgular, başat belirleyici unsur olacaktır.

Metaverse evreninde biyolojik bedenimiz yanı sıra zihinsel varlığımızın eline geçebilecek yığınca yeni fırsatı görebileceğiz. Newton, üzerinde yaşadığı dünyayı, zihin kapasitesindeki düşünce deneyleriyle tartabilmiş bir dehaydı. Bugün zihin dünyasını kullanmanın ve metaverse ile biyoverse (bedensel boyut) arasında gidiş/gelişlerin sistematik ve kolay hale geleceği ortamda acaba bizler, öğrenmeyi başka boyutlara taşıyabilir miyiz?

Metaverse’ün sayısız tanımının olabileceğini artık hepimiz biliyoruz ve konular değiştikçe bunların da konuya uygun şekilde yapılacağının farkındayız… Bu bağlamda Metaverse’ü, “insanlar arasındaki iletişimin yeni modeli” olarak da tanımlamak yerindedir.

Öncelikle 2 boyutlu (piksel) internet siteleri, alış veriş siteleri, sohbet siteleri gelişme gösterdi ve iletişim; çağ atladı. Metaverse ise bizlere 3 boyutlu (Voksel) yönüyle yeni bir iletişim modelini sunuyor. Özellikle Z kuşağı 2 boyutlu alanlarda tıklamalar yerine, 3 boyutlu oyun arabirimlerine alışık olarak yetişen bir kuşak olarak geliyor ve geleceğe ilerliyor…

Peki, Metaverse iletişim yönünün yanı sıra hangi unsurları ile eğitim sektörüne temas ediyor/edecek?

Uzaktan eğitimde ilk kez teknoloji ve eğitim birbiriyle denk olmaktan öteye geçip, adeta örtüştü, bütünleşti, birbirine derinlemesine temas etti. Bu tip eğitim şekli “kalıcı olsun/olmasın” tartışmaları altında pandemi, dünya genelinde aşağı seyir izlemeye başlayınca, Türkiye genel olarak tercihini geleneksel eğitimden yana kullandı.

Pandemide kalıcı olması düşünülen bazı sanal derslerin hiçbiri sürdürülür müfredatta yer almadı.

Yıl 2022’ye gelmiş ve geleceğe doğru ilerliyorken şimdi; Metaverse kavramının eğitim sektöründe çığır açıcı etkiler yaratması kuvvetli öngörüler arasında yer alıyor. Zira eğitim ve teknolojinin Metaverse sayesinde bir birine temas etmiş olmanın ötesine geçerek bir nevi kesişim kümesi oluşturacağı ve bu oluşan kesişim kümesinin de geleneksel eğitim modelini baştan aşağıya değiştireceği öngörülüyor.
