The world’s first Love Poem

Mankind has been trying to explain the love that has given different definitions for centuries in works of art. The poem, which is the world’s first love poem, is a 4,000-year-old Sumerian cuneiform tablet that has been exhibited at the Istanbul Archeology Museum for years.

The tablet containing the first love poem was translated into English by the US Sumerologist Samuel Noah Kramer. The first Sumerologist of Turkey, Muazzez İlmiye Çığ, who is 94 years old, translated the tablet into Turkish. Here is the world’s first love poem.

It’s a great asset for humanity and as representing the humanity for Turkey as well. So how can we define the relationship between love and Turkey. Turkey is geographically a centralized position between the continents. Europe merges with Asia in Turkey and south and north again merges through Turkey.

Russian steppes and African continent also merges through Turkey over the world. So the human races all have been accumulated in Turkey geography since 12,000 years starting with Neolithic.

Gene structure of Turkey is very diversified which is representing the love of the human beings. It is really a great asset and you see the Sumerian love poem is exhibited in Turkey. Ancient Sumeria was at the south of Iraq but seas and rivers have been unified with a love poem in Turkey.

Well, what comes to mind when you think of the place where “peace” was born? No need to search far. Peace was born on the territory of Turkey in 1269 BC. Like the first proof of love, the first proof of peace is also found in these lands. The first copy of the Kadesh Peace Agreement, which was signed between the Hittites and Egypt and is accepted as the world’s first peace agreement according to the findings so far, was found in a temple in Karnak in Egypt, and the other in Boğazköy, Central Turkey in 1906.

At the end of the text of the agreement, which is located in Boğazköy, Central Turkey and currently exhibited at the Istanbul Archeology Museum, “If anyone flees from the country of Egypt, to the country of Hatti, Central Turkey, or from the country of Hatti to the country of Egypt, they will give it back to each other.

But they will not be severely punished, there will be no tears in their eyes, and their wives and children will not be avenged. It is not very common to include the words “no tears will come out of your eyes” in the text of an agreement.

Dünyanın ilk aşk şiiri

Dünyanın ilk Barış Antlaşması

Peki, “barış”ın doğduğu yer denince aklınıza neresi gelir? Çok uzakta aramaya gerek yok. Barış, MÖ 1269 tarihinde Türkiye topraklarında dünyaya geldi. Aşkın ilk kanıtı gibi barışın ilk kanıtı da bu topraklarda yer alıyor. Hititler ve Mısır arasında imzalanan ve şu ana kadarki bulgulara göre dünyanın ilk barış anlaşması olarak kabul edilen Kadeş Barış Anlaşması’nın ilk kopyası Mısır’da Karnak’taki bir tapınakta, diğeri ise 1906 yılında Boğazköy’de bulundu. Boğazköy’de bulunan ve şu anda İstanbul Arkeoloji Müzesi’nde sergilenen anlaşma metninin sonunda “Eğer Mısır ülkesinden, Hatti ülkesine ya da Hatti ülkesinden Mısır ülkesine kaçanlar olursa, birbirlerine geri vereceklerdir.

Fakat bunlar şiddetle cezalandırılmayacak, onların gözlerinden yaş akmayacak, eşleri ve çocuklarından öç alınmayacak” ifadeleri yer alıyor. Bir anlaşma metninde “gözlerinden yaş akmayacak” sözlerinin yer alması çok sık rastlanan bir ifade değil. Tarihin en masum ve şairane barış anlaşması. Bu anlaşma metninin 2 metre boyutundaki bir bakır kopyası ise günümüz tüm ülkelerini bir çatı altında birleştiren Birleşmiş Milletler binasında asılı. Dünyanın tüm ülkelerinin temsilcileri binaya her ayak basışında yaklaşık 3300 yıl önce imzalanan bu ilk barış anlaşmasını görüyor…
